Airplane....

Asked the kiddo this morning...he was lying on his beloved pillow, drinking his milk.....

"Cayden ..... do you want to take a plane to see Papa ?"

He immediately sat up and looked at me....so I asked him again

"do you want to take a plane to see Papa ?"

He nodded his head eagerly and said " ya......plane......papa..."

Awwwww.....so sweet......

Mama....

When I picked up Cayden from the CC today, Amy told me that Cayden kept insisting "ma-ma...ma-ma". during the session where the teacher would talk and interact with the kids. And the topic for today was "Daddy-What do you like most about your Daddy".

Apparently, he ran up to Amy and force her to look into his eyes and said "ma ma" when the rest of the kids are talking about their daddy and how they pick them up from CC.

When I heard that, my heart broke. He is clearly affected by the absence of his father. And I noticed recently that when I asked him whether he wants to talk to papa, he would say "NO" very loudly and firmly. But when I turned on the webcam, he would ran to me and sat down in front of me and wait for his father to appear.

I dun know what to do but started a ritual for him. When I switch off the light and before he fell asleep just now, I told him "Papa said hug hug Cayden, Papa said kiss kiss cayden, Papa said I love you Cayden....." I could see him smiling when I hug and kiss him ..........

I wish I know what goes on in that little mind and how I can help him to make it easier and less painful.

Updates

Since last entry, I have been very busy both at work and at home. There are just so many things to take care of. Nevertheless, here are some updates on the kiddo.

1. Cayden is quite a slow talker but he is beginning to pick up 2-3 syllbus words, like "ice-cream, hotdog, mickey mouse...."

2. Beside his love for his pillowcase, he has a new love now. A blanket which used to belong to my younger sis. It is a patchwork blanket with trains, ducks, cats.....guess I have to bring that along with me to US too !

3. He is more fussy about the clothes he wants to wear. It has to be either mickey mouse, thomas the train, pooh bear or doremon......or his school uniforms.

4. He had stomach flu two weeks ago and he puked once in Seiyu and once in Liang Court. Both times, he ended up only clad in diapers as we walked from the stores to the carpark. Along the way, there are lots of exclaimations over a naked baby :)

5. He was 11.5 KG before his stomach flu and 11.6 KG now though he eats like a cow. I dun know where did all the food go to ?!

6. Sometimes when he sees his father on the webcam, he would look very sad. Mouth turndown and eyes moist with tears.

7. Beside mickey mouse, he also loves Jojo-the circus clown and Dora. His taste in girls is quite consistant at the moment.

8. Brought him to the pool at Raffles Town Club last week, he was hanging to me for his dear life but he was very very excited when he saw the pool. He was pulling off his shirt while running towards the pool like how the hunks ran towards the beach in Baywatch. The pool has slides and water spraying from the sides and also water erupting from the center of a small pool (as if like water volcanoes). But too bad, the weather turn thunderous after a short 15 minutes dip.

9. His fringe which i accidentally clipped off too much is still not growing.....I felt so bad about it.

That's all at the moment. Will catch up on the photos upload soon.

Papa......I miss you.....

Yesterday, when i picked him up from school, he was holding a photo of us which was taken in Bintan months ago. The moment he saw me, he pointed to the photo and said : "papa mama ..den papa mama ..den"

He held on to that photo tightly throughout the journey home.....

Cayden and his Pillow

Linus has his blanket, Cayden has his pillow.

I know that kiddo will attach themselves to something familiar and they will find security in it.....but Cayden's pillow is big and cannot be stuffed into a haversack !

He does not allow anybody to lie on it. Sometimes on a bad day, I was not even allowed to touch it. If I do, he will "no no no" and snatched the pillow away. That is how much he love his pillow.

Now I am in a dilemma...should I bring this pillow on board the flight to US ? Posted by Picasa

Teary Thursday

Managed to have a webcam conference with Joash and the mic is working too. Cayden was very excited to see his father after a long time. He sat in front of me and kept calling papa...papa......It sounded so sweet and so crisp.

And as it was the first day of CC after the long holidays, I told him that I am going to change him into CC uniforms. He stared at me and said :"no no no there there" and pushed my hands away and kept telling me "there there". He was trying to ask me to go "there", meaning, go away...hahahahahaa.....
(BTW, Joash was on the webcam "helping" to pacify Cayden).

After the longest time, when we were all ready to go, I told Cayden to say bye bye to Joash. He got really upset and immediately went to my laptop and frantically trying to "touch" him and kept crying "no no no papa papa" He got this desperate look in his eyes when he tried to stop his papa from going away.

It was so heart-wenching..........

Swallowing the lump in my throat, I could only tell him:" Papa is going to have his dinner. We go downstairs and eat our breakfast oki?" Thankfully, he nodded his head.

Children are masters of adaptation. They are usually far more adaptable than adults.

I strongly believe in it......
