ring in the stick or stick in the ring ?

Mama:
My sis got this "I'm Toy" for Cayden's birthday. He finally get to open it yesterday. (We are rationing his birthday presents so that his interests can last).

Children will love this colourful caterpillar. Your child will learn to count either by colours or by stacking the rings up. Each ring, likewise the caterpillar head, becomes a bead if diverts a play to lacing activities. The caterpillar wooden nose or tail can function as a lacing stick.

Cayden did neither the counting nor the stacking.......He pulled out every ring and stick and swept the rings across the room.....and then laughed at his own actions. The closest thing he did (as opposed to the intended purpose of the toy) was to pull out the stick and put it through the ring and start shaking hard with it.

so for the time being now, it is stick in the ring and not ring in the stick. Posted by Picasa

1 more day to go...

Mama :

Thousands pics tell thousands stories......

Dog Fight !

Mama :

"While waterplay, Cayden snatch a toy car from another child. The child bite him on his left hand. Cayden cried for a while and cold compress was applied."

Yesterday, Teacher Rati told me this when I went to pick up Cayden from infantcare. She looked so worried....
No worries !!! ....the little rascal got to learn to wait for his turn and not snatch from other pple.

And apparently, he learnt his lesson. We were shopping in OG orchard and he saw a gor-gor playing with Thomas the Train. He sat on the floor beside that gor-gor and wanted to reach out his hands to snatch the toy from him. I held his hands and said " wait....wait....wait for gor-gor to finish first. Then it is your turn. " He pulled his hands back and just looked at the gor-gor and waited patiently. He waited for a while more and again wanted to snatch the toy....I held on to his hands and repeat the same thing. He again pulled his hands back and waited for that gor-gor to finish. Until, another kid (a older kid who was playing with the same toy and saw what happened) volunteerily pass the Thomas the Train to Cayden.

See the bite marks on his forearms......three teeth marks.....

2 more days to go....

Mama :

I had a C-section "delivery". The actual EDD was 24th March. I had to have a C-section because our dear Cayden refused to be engaged in position. (later discovered to be my fault rather than him....will blog that later)

And the date was chosen by my gynea who is a no-nonsense yet humorous old doc. I can still remember the scenerio. He flipped open his table calendar...."hmmm......oki !....18th March....nice number ! So...you like it to be afternoon or morning ? " And that's it....18th March...the big day !

and thus Celebrating our joy .....

Priceless...

The last 3 weeks has been lots of wailing and crying at the doorstep of the infantcare. It was the peak (I hope) of Cayden's separation anxiety. Just say that I even had to restore to do my personal business (both big and small) with a kiddo sitting on my lap. Mondays were the worst because after the whole weekend with mama and papa, it was very difficult for him not to be with us on Mondays.

The first two weeks was still bearable for me. "It should be separation anxiety", I told myself. "after all, he stopped crying when he see his favorite teachers." By the 3rd week...when he cried at the doorstep every morning, my heart would break..."oh dear...how long will he be crying ? Should I call Babiesinc to check and ask how is he ? Is he not happy there ? Where is Violet – his favorite teacher ?" All these questions would be racing through my head. (Violet happened to go on leave…)

And on Monday (two days back), he cried a little....on Tuesday, he only whined....yesterday, he just looked at us.....and today.....he gave us a flying kiss......a priceless flying kiss.......

So for the first time in 3 weeks, Cayden did not cry.....not even a tinnee whinnee bit when we left him at the infantcare.

Smmmmmmacks ! Cayden, Mama kiss you back !

3 more days to go......

Mama :
3 more days to go before it is Cayden's 1st Birthday. He has grown so much in this one year, not only physically but in all other aspects. I am just happy that he is a happy kid, most of time smiling, if not grinning and up to some mischief.

Being the first time mum and not knowing wat to expect, especially when this happened so suddenly, I am glad to say that it is still showing green on my report card. :) Though, there are still much to learn, much to trial and error, I am looking forward and enjoying each day with my little rascal.

Want to countdown by starting this photo medley "Celebration"....

kicking off is

Celebrating Birth....

I am just so glad and grateful that we have made the right decision this time.
