Cayden is 18th month old today !

Cayden is 18th month old today ! Time really sped past when you are enjoying yourself.....

Cayden is really a big boy now.....He had learnt a lot of things and also mastered lots of self-helped skills. I did not keep track of the words he said but for sure i have heard his first sentence : where ye ye ? while searching for his grandfather....

I love music......all kinds mostly.......and one of the things I am very happy is his appreciation for music. It could be any music....he would either hum along with the music or if it is fast tempo, he would swing his arms and start moving his head, his legs and his bum......be it his KinderMusik music CD, classical and yet romatic Chopin, my jazzy Michael Bublé, my chinese radio station, boys band on Power 98, 80s songs from 91.3.......and yesterday, he even hummed along with Andrea Bocelli.....though looking abit constipated....

Though I know that cheeky = naughty, I still do not mind that Cayden is cheeky because I like the way his eyes will light up and sparkle when he caught sight of something which interests him.....and I like the way he grinned when he thought he fooled you into thinking that he is full already and I like the way his face shows determination when he climbs up the dining chair, armrest, ikea cupboard, gates....:)

Joash flew to India yesterday night and we sort of celebrated his 18th mth by spending a day as a family yesterday. We went to Mac for lunch....and Cayden had a happy meal for lunch. (It is damn unhealthy....but how many more 18th month can Cayden celebrate ?!) and then went to Forum Toyrus to walk around. Spend most of the time at the outdoors section where Cayden climbed in and out of every cars, 4WD and motorcycles !!! I was good ...cos we walked out of Toyrus EMPTY-HANDED !

Then we walked to Taka, hoping to spend the taka vouchers....but there is nothing to buy !!! Had a relaxing tea-break at delifrance while Cayden slept in his father's arms. He woke up....and we started to walk all the way back to Wheelock Place where we parked our car. But along the way, we stopped for A LOT of times........three time cos he wanted me to carry....but i said no..........two times he was distracted with the poka dotted balls hung from the trees.....two times he stopped and danced to the music blasted from the roadshows.......until, the father cannot tahan........He was scooped up ... and reached our car in no time ! :P

So, that's how we celebrated his 18th mth :) May he continue to stay happy, cheeky and healthy!!

Cayden and his greens....

Cayden has his share of good day and bad day when it comes to mealtime. When he is good, he would finish his chunky meat and finely chopped and camouflaged greens, oranges, yellows.....on a bad day, he would spilt out his chunky meat together with the porridge and also picked out all the green, orange, yellow and throw them onto the floor.....

I had a hard time trying to imagine how he would fit this eating habit in his childcare. I have seen his lunch months ago. It was fried rice, with bits of meat and whole peas and corns ! I was thinking to myself then...Cayden is going to throw out the pea and corns and maybe the meat and just going to eat the rice.....

Two days back, I had a chance to talk to his teacher. I asked her how is his eating habit cos he was always throwing away his greens and refuse to chew meat.....Mariam looked surprised....she said that he is a good eater.....would chew his meat and eat his greens like the rest of his friends...... !!!

PEER PRESSURE !!!

Saturday at East Coast Park

Yesterday, we woke up at six in the morning, preparing to set off for the X-country run at East Coast Park organised by Hewlett Packard.

We picked up Steve along the way and Cayden has taken to Steve almost immediately. Stev-vee is going for the 10km run whereas we are going for the 3km fun run/walk.





Cayden looked on when Steve start his 10km run.


We were resting in the hawker center waiting for Steve to show up from his 10km run.


When Steve came back, Cayden immediately pulled his hand and made him "ran" round the hawker center, trying to mimick the way Steve ran.....

Once bitten, Twice......also bitten.....

Remember the last time Cayden was bitten in the arm by his friend ? It happened again !

I picked him up from childcare and I was just asking him
"Did you nap ?"
"Ya....nap...nap"

"Have you drink milk ?"
"Ya"

"Did you cry cry today ?"
Then he screwed up his face and show me his crying face. Anyway, I din think much of it cos I thought he was just responding to the word "cry".

It was only later then I discovered that there is quite a deep bite mark on his left arm. I asked him...
"Did someone bite you ?"
"Bite....bite " then he put his mouth to his arm, showing me the action of biting.

I asked the teacher the next day whether Cayden was naughty and snatched someone's toy cos he was bitten. She said that Cayden and another kid were playing and all of a sudden the kid just bit Cayden on the arm. They think that the kid is most probably teething....

To me, this incident is oki....kids are afterall kids. So, I dun want to make too big a fuss over this. But what is more important to me is to teach Cayden that biting is unacceptable.

 

Mr Vain

Cayden always like to play with my hair rubber bands. Sometimes when he sees it, he would pick it up and pass it to me, asking me to tie up my hair. This morning, he saw the band on the bed. He picked it up and asked me to tie his hair. Then he asked me "nice ?" I was so amused. I took out my handphone camera and snapped a pic.



The band dropped cos Cayden got so little hair. Cayden asked me to tie again and then asked me "nice ?" and then he passed my handphone to me, asking me to take a photo of him. Hahahaha.......oki....Mr Vainpot.....Ya....talking about you !
